Refund policy

We want you (and your kids feet!) to love our socks. If you don't, here's what you can do:

change of mind

  • 30-day returns for unworn, unwashed socks in original packaging.
  • You can choose a refund, exchange or store credit.
  • Return postage is at your cost (unless faulty).

faulty or wrong item?

If your socks arrive damaged, faulty or not what you ordered, we’ll cover the return postage and send a replacement or refund.

how to return

  • Email info@ihatesocks.com.au with your order details.
  • We'll assess your request and reply with next steps and return address 
  • If approved, pop your socks in the post (tracked is best).
  • Once received, we’ll process your refund or exchange within 10 business days.

a few things to note

  • Sale items, gift cards, promo items, and free gifts can’t be returned unless faulty.
  • Refunds go back to your original payment method
  • For hygiene reasons, sock that have shown any signs of being worn cannot be returned.

change of mind policy

we are happy to offer you a refund or exchange for any change of mind within 30 days from the date of delivery, if socks are unworn and in their original packaging.

Subject to the Consumer Guarantees outlined below, merchandise returned for change of mind within the above timeframes can be returned for an exchange or full refund subject to the following conditions:

  • Proof of purchase is accompanied with the returned merchandise.
  • The merchandise is unworn, unwashed, unused and in its original condition.
  • Any discounts received at the time of initial purchase will be honoured, as long as the new item is of equal or higher value.

If your socks are unworn and you would like to arrange a refund, please email info@ihatesocks.com.au to initiate your return.

Due to hygienic reasons, upon receiving the product, it will be inspected to ensure that it hasn't been used. Products must be returned to i hate socks in their original condition and in their original packaging.

Once the return has been processed you will either be supplied with the exchange item/s of your choosing, an i hate socks credit code or a refund.

Refunds will be processed using the original payment method. We do not provide cash refunds for purchases made via credit/debit card, PayPal, Afterpay, or other third-party payment providers.

For change of mind returns, customers are responsible for all return postage costs. i hate socks does not provide pre-paid return labels for change of mind returns. We recommend using a tracked postage service, as i hate socks is not responsible for items lost in transit.

i hate socks is not responsible for and will not accept the return of any item that is not returned in a new and unused condition. All returns must be authorised by i hate socks.

Please allow up to 10 business days from the date we receive your return for it to be processed.

Exclusions: Sale items, promotional items, gift cards, and “free gift with purchase” items cannot be returned for change of mind unless faulty. If returning an order that included a free gift, the gift must also be returned in original condition, otherwise the value may be deducted from your refund.


consumer guarantees

Our Change of Mind Policy does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law and you have consumer guarantees that cannot be limited by us.

If your product is not of acceptable quality, is not fit for its purpose or is different from its description or sample, then you may be eligible for a refund, exchange or any drop in value of the product (if you choose to keep it).

If you have purchased a product with a fault, you have the right to ask for your choice of a replacement or refund. Further information is available at the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.

Merchandise returned under consumer guarantees can be returned within a reasonable timeframe subject to proof of purchase.

Merchandise marked as seconds or sample product must be chosen carefully as these items cannot be returned due to the fault that was identified at the time of purchase. If the seconds or sample product exhibits a fault (not related to the fault identified at the time of purchase), is not fit for purpose or is incorrectly described, it may be returned in accordance with the above consumer guarantees.

Our customer service team are unable to review any worn or used items via email or phone. All items must be physically returned either via mail to be processed, in accordance with the process detailed above.


online cancellations and order amendments

In most cases we are able to cancel or make amendments to online orders after your order is placed. Amendments may include but are not limited to:

  • Change of delivery address
  • Changes to colours and sizes
  • Adding or removing items
  • Applying discounts
  • Full order cancellations

Please ensure all details provided are full and correct at the time of order placement. Should you need to make a change, please contact info@ihatesocks.com.au as soon as possible.

We cannot guarantee amendments or cancellations once your order has been packed or dispatched.


faulty, damaged or incorrectly described items

If you receive an item that is faulty, damaged or incorrectly described, please contact us at info@ihatesocks.com.au with details and clear photos of the issue.

Where a return is required, i hate socks will refund reasonable postage costs upon presentation of a valid receipt. All claims are subject to inspection by i hate socks prior to approval, which may be conducted via submitted photos or upon return of the goods.

Once assessed, we will offer a suitable resolution, which may include a replacement, repair or refund in line with your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

Please note that refunds or replacements will not be provided for items that have been damaged due to incorrect use or failure to follow our care instructions. You can view our care instructions here.

In some cases, we may choose to resolve claims with a refund without requiring the return of the item. This is at our discretion.

orders, shipping + delivery

Orders are generally processed within 1–3 business days. Estimated delivery times are provided at checkout but are not guaranteed.

Please ensure your delivery details are correct when placing an order. i hate socks is not responsible for orders shipped to an incorrect address provided by the customer.


payment terms

Full payment is required at the time of purchase. We accept major credit/debit cards, PayPal, and selected “buy now, pay later” providers such as Afterpay (subject to their terms and conditions).


liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, i hate socks is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from the use of our products. This does not exclude or limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.


privacy

Your personal information will be collected and used in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which is available on our website.


governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
